JOHNSON CITY - Elaine Pickering, 82, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday morning August 11, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Elaine was a loving nurse serving the Johnson City area for thirty five years. Elaine loved spending time with her family, and after retirement she enjoyed antiquing with family and friends. Elaine was a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Mattie Mazza, Sister Dorothy Clark, and Brother Billy Mazza. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years Bill Lee Pickering, Daughters Susan and husband Tim Skeen, Janet and husband Earl Wyatt, granddaughter Katie Hicks and husband Andy, Grandson Cody Skeen, great grandsons Andy, Jackson, and Cash Hicks, sisters Delores White and Patsy Guess, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special cousin and friends Janice and husband Roger Teinert as well as many special friends. The Pickering Family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Services 3001 Peoples St. Johnson City Tennessee, 37604 on Monday August 13, 2018 from 5-7pm with a funeral service to follow at 7pm with Pastor Jim Butch Stout officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at Monte Vista Cemetery at 1pm Tuesday August 14, 2018. Pallbearers will be Earl Wyatt, Tim Skeen, Cody Skeen, Andy Hicks, Austin Martin, and Roger Teinert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy, Jackson, Cash Hicks and Jerry Carmicheal. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50. The family would like to give a special thank you to Monica Ekerfe and all the Hospice Nurses at the Johnson City Medical Center.
